Starbucks iced caramel macchiato recipe

You probably don't know but I am shamelessly obsessed with Starbucks. My favourites are the berry hibiscus refresher and the iced caramel macchiato. I love them so much that I searched for ages on how to make my own Iced caramel macchiato and it was surprisingly easy. After i posted this photo on tumblr:

a lot of people asked for the recipe. I did post it on my tumblr but i thought it would be easier to post here so here is the recipe. 

Everything i used:
  • vanilla syrup - if you don’t have vanilla syrup you can make your own (an equal ratio of sugar to water i.e. 100grams of sugar and 100ml of water, boil in a pot unti sugar is dissolved and add vanilla essence or extract)
  • milk
  • ice
  • expresso - i used 2 shots normally and make it with my expresso machine (i have heard of some people just using instant coffee but expresso has the best result)
  • caramel sauce
  • starbucks tumbler 
What i do:
  1. Add desired amount of vanilla syrup - i usually use 4 pumps
  2. Add milk - i add milk to just under 3/4 of the tumbler 
  3. Add as much ice as you want 
  4. I make my expresso then gently pour it over the ice - this creates the split effect 
  5. Drizzle as much caramel sauce as i want on top
